Client Awards 2020
I shot just under 100 client sessions this year and feel extremely grateful for the support and also the trust that my clients had in me to capture their special story. What a year 2020 was hey!
I recently stumbled across a photographer in the UK who writes a blog yearly awarding clients. It was so entertaining to read and with her permission I have created my own client awards for 2020, with my own personal twist. It’s just a bit of fun, but I hope you like it and get a little more insight into what a shoot with me might include.
Please know if you’re a client of mine and your session didn’t win a category - it’s not because I didn’t enjoy your session, it’s likely because I couldn’t get creative enough to come up with a category to suit. But also… Nearly 100 shoots to go through and this is just a blog, not a novel! Haha.
HAPPIEST TO BE AT MY SHOOT
Oh Oliver, you win this award for your big beaming smiles. I could try to claim he was happy to be hanging out with me, but the truth is Oliver is one loved little lad and is happiest hanging out with his fun loving family.
BEST DADDY CUDDLES
Hands down Amayah wins this award for truly loving her Dad Stefan so so much during our session. I had the joy of editing so many cuddly Daddy - Daughter shots whilst my heart melted.
MOST AMOUNT OF I LOVE YOU’S SAID
I am beginning to wonder if my children love me; they only tell me once a day. Unlike Miss Violet who says in the cutest voice ten times every minute “Mummy I love you”. Absolutely beautiful!
BRAVEST MODELS
Stripping off to bare all is brave and isn’t that interesting because to be nude is us in our most natural form. I credit these amazing women for being brave and attending my first ever female empowerment shoot. Thank you for trusting my vision and making such a positive impact on the lives of many women who are learning to love their bodies.
SAVED THE BEST SHOT FOR LAST
OK, so I’d be lying if I didn’t say that every shot from this session was amazing. But the funny thing is my fav was the last shot I took. As I said goodbye and went to walk away, I noticed the beautiful moon above April and couldn’t resist one last snap. If you’ve had a shoot with me you’ve probably heard me say ‘oh just one more’ and THIS is why!
MOST COWS AT A SESSION
This award goes to the Mitchell Family. We adventured to their family farm for their session, they had amazing backdrops for photos including their cattle yards, old ruins and a paddock. I will say, most people think photography isn’t a dangerous profession - but you try looking through a camera snapping photos whilst walking backwards in a paddock which may or may not have some cow patty surprises awaiting your boot. Dangerous I tell ya!
WISEST BABY
Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t you think baby Ben looks wise beyond his years?? Such a cutie.
BEST WEEDS AT LOCATION
Without a doubt the Langes’ win this one! Some people call them weeds but I call them nature’s beauty! Give me a good weed patch, a Mama and her child and I’m one happy photographer.
WILDEST WEATHER
This group motherhood shoot started off as a beautiful calm sunny evening and ended with cold wild winds! Despite what Mother Nature was throwing at us, these Mamas were so resilient and remained positive and upbeat throughout the shoot. Standing in the cold lake waters, dodging sand and still showing me their natural nurturing connections with their bubs. Mothers are amazing!!
BABY’S FIRST SHOWER
When I suggested a photo of Lauren and her delightful new addition Cam in the shower, I didn’t think about just how raw the photos would turn out. Hearing it was Cam’s first shower was a little bit special and a total privilege to photograph. Ahh 2021, gimme all the Mamas and newborns in showers and baths pleeease, so natural, oh so beautiful and relaxing for Mum and bubs too!
MOST ELEGANT WITH FEET FULL OF PRICKLES
I shouldn’t laugh! The joys of shooting with me out at bush locations - you never quite know what we might encounter. When I saw these beautiful white wildflowers carpeting the ground, I suggested a majestic barefoot pregnant goddess shot of Georgia in amongst them. What we didn’t expect was for these white flowers to be full of tiny little pin prick prickles. Ouchies! But tell me it wasn’t worth it!!?
BEST SUNSET
You can never plan a sunset! But my gosh when you get a good one, it’s amazing. This shot was just so coincidently perfect. We found a large rock which just happened to be directly in front of this epic sunset. So when Carlee laid her beautiful preggo body across the rock, it was a perfect trio!! This will forever be one of my absolute favs.
There were so many more amazing / funny things to happen at my shoots this year, but these are just a few.

I love that my passion enables me to meet so many people and go on unique adventures weekly. Again I want to say THANK YOU.
